Autodesk Fusion 360 Challenge
Option I : CONCEPT DESIGN OF PRODUCTS RELEVANT TO SWACHH BHARAT
Swachh Bharat Mission is a massive mass movement that seeks to create a Clean India by 2019. The father of our nation Mr. Mahatma Gandhi always puts the emphasis on swachhta as swachhta leads to healthy and prosperous life. Keeping this in mind, the Indian government has decided to launch the swachh bharat mission on October 2, 2014.The mission will cover all rural and urban areas. The urban component of the mission will be implemented by the Ministry of Urban Development, and the rural component by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
In this regard, you are expected to design products which are relevant/ useful/ handy when any citizen thinks of CLEANLINESS. So students look around you and design solutions to make India a cleanlier & beautiful place to live for us and for our future children.
Option II : DESIGN FOR HOME OR OFFICE
Each student is required to create a Space design using Fusion 360. Since it is multidisciplinary assignment it is kept open to students to come out with creativity. Space design environment may be for any one simple environment which could be a Hall or a Bedroom Or a Kitchen in a house or Any Retail store or any Exhibition space or office space or any service related space or a Bakery space or Kids related space Or Garage space etc.
The content need to be minimum of two different furniture may be in multiples may be Chair, Stool, Cot, Side table, dressing table etc., according to the chosen space. There should be a light used in the environment. Apply suitable material & render.
Autodesk Revit Challenge
Option 1 : Design a Multi-storey Residential OR Commercial Building
A Multi-storey is a building that has multiple floors above ground in the building. Multi-storey buildings aim to increase the floor area of the building without increasing the area of the land the building is built on, hence saving land and, in most cases, money (depending on material used and land prices in the area).
Students must also understand that in the residential and commercial sector they demand buildings that are rapid to construct, of high quality, flexible and adaptable in application, and energy efficient in use.
Main Design Consideration
- Medium rise Building with a maximum rise in storey of 4 (Four).
- Building could be steel or concrete structure.
- Building should be energy efficient and around 10% of required power may be trapped from solar energy.
- Maximum benefit from day light is expected to be used for interior space.
- Open space is encouraged to keep green along with a vast water body. (optional)
- Ground Floor level or Basement of the building should be used for Parking.
- If design is Commercial building, huge number of people is expected to visit the office regularly. Public space, public facilities, working area, restricted area should be defined properly.
- If design is a Residential building, please ensure that basic amenities are provided.
- Design corridors, staircases, and parking areas to utilize day lighting.
- Utilize rooftops of multistory residential or commercial buildings for the generation of hot water and/or electricity using solar energy.
- Through rendered perspectives and elevations, the proposals should demonstrate surface including material, color, texture and light.

Site & Location: Site should be no larger than a single city block.
Site Size= 80’x130′. Site should be located in an easily reached area of any city in India.
Option 2 : Design an energy efficient Library
Plan a library with articulating interior and exterior spaces within an Institution.
Libraries in Institution differ from most other types of libraries because they are contained within institution premises. Please plan the library with site details provide below. Appropriate space planning for present needs and future expansion is imperative in the library. An expected number of visitors would be between 500 and 800 students per day, means this facility is crucial.
There are many broad types of library space, please plan for the same:
- Collection space
- Quite study area
- Electronic workstation space
- Display of Print Material
- AV (Audio Video) room
- Computer learning room
- Group Study
- Reference work and other learning activity
- User seating space
- Staff workspace
- Meeting space
- Rooms for file servers and other equipment
- Video production areas
- Few Classrooms and instructional areas
- Special use space etc….
The building should be planned keeping the energy-efficiency in mind.
Most importantly the Library should have good allocation of space, such that minimum disturbance is felt by users as there are multiple activities happening at the same time. Thus we achieve our objective i.e., a high-quality, eco-efficient and timeless building.
Site size & Location: 150ft X 280ft & located in a School/Institution/University in India
Option 3 : Design a School for differently abled children
For a child, school play an important role in his/her life.
However, for special schools that cater to the needs of differently abled children who struggle with severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities is a bit different.For such schools, staff and resource should be addressed looking at the needs of these children.
The designer should focus on spaces in building such that it makes differently abled children independent and acceptable to the society. These kind of schools strive to develop self-confidence, social skills and interpersonal skills in the children. The schools act as the educational and developmental anchors of the differently abled children.Many such schools provide opportunities for their students to gain computer skills and vocational training that suits their special abilities.Generally such schools ensure that teachers provide instructions to individual students or small groups of students so that their needs can be addressed in a proper manner. Extra-Curricular also form a part of the educational course in such schools.
The building should be planned keeping in mind the above details and most importantly energy-efficiency in mind.
