Ambient temperature is the single harshest constraint on an Indian EV pack, and thermal design is where range, life and safety are all decided at once. This session covers the strategy and the modelling that has to back it.

• Where the heat comes from: cell internal resistance, C-rate and ambient load
• Passive, air, liquid and phase-change cooling — cost, weight and when each is justified
• Thermal runaway propagation and designing the barriers that stop it
• Setting up a pack thermal model, and the boundary conditions people get wrong
• Correlating a simulation against real bench data instead of trusting it
