Pune is where India's automotive industry is manufactured rather than announced. The OEM plants, the tier-1 supplier base, ARAI's testing and homologation infrastructure and a dense engineering-college network all sit within an hour of each other.
Events here skew practical: production engineering, validation, homologation, supplier development. The people in the room have build responsibility, which makes the questions better and the marketing thinner. It's also the best city in the country for a student to be seen by someone who hires.
Nothing here is metro-convenient in the way Delhi is. Assume a cab, and assume the Mumbai–Pune expressway will decide your arrival time if you're coming from Mumbai.
